After traveling from coast to coast, filming engagement videos of the science content that I teach everyday and learning firsthand aboard the R/V Melville, it's now time to put it all together in the classroom as the adventures continue!

1st impressions...
Simply amazing. The massive ship with busy hands hard at work to set up is the scene. I was put to work right away which eases any apprehension as I like to work. I have a lot to learn but am with some truly patient professionals that are wiling to take the time to explain both the science and the ins and outs of preparing for life at sea.

What kinds of jobs are you doing on the boat?
ReplyDeleteAt this point is more carpentry and plumbing and electrical than science. We have been building frames for all the equipment and even created an entire room filled with plastic as our "clean room." I will add that to a new post. I have been crazy busy ever since I walked onto the ship. Everything has to be bolted down or it will slide around as we start to shift weight from the tides.
DeleteThat is an AMAZING Picture !! I Love The View. Have fun, we'll miss you at graduation. (:
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely missing you guys too. This is an intense journey and I wish that I could be there for your big event. Take care and keep in touch.
